The Food Safety Team has an enviable record for
helping the New Zealand meat industry to produce some of the
microbiologically cleanest meat products in the world. This has
enhanced the storage and shelf-life of NZ produced meat products so
that it can be enjoyed in all parts of the globe.
As well as ground breaking micro work, this
team has helped develop the CapTech packaging system.
The Food Safety Team started
its life as the Microbiology Team of MIRINZ Inc., and later became
the Fresh Meat Team before becoming the Microbiology & Food Safety
Team. Under MIRINZ Ltd. this was simplified to Food Safety, as it
remains today as part of AgResearch Ltd.
